Estate Planning & Administration
The estate planning and administration of the firm is under a very competent and dynamic team with many years of expertise, from the reporting of a deceased estate, the preparation and lodgment of documents required by the Master of the High Court, including but not limited to, Liquidation and Distribution accounts, redistribution agreements, the administration of estate bank accounts, various relevant estate matters to winding up of the estate. The team, in conjunction with our litigation department, also provides opinions and legal advise on all surrounding fields, for example on the validity of wills, interpretation of wills and disputes between heirs of an estate. The team also registers and administers both Inter Vivos and Mortis Causa Trusts. They have an impressive turn around times on the registration of Trusts (discretionary -, family-, and business trusts).
The Estate Law and Administration department attends to all matters relating to estates, from the initial estate planning, drafting of wills and the actual estate administration process. The type of estate varies from deceased estates to insolvent deceased estates. The Department also attends to all matters relating to curatorships, as well as trusts, i.e. both testamentary and inter vivos trusts.
